Bandstra: Driving the North
For decades, Bandstra Transportation has been the backbone of freight movement across Northern British Columbia. From less-than-truckload (LTL) and truckload (TL) shipments to flatdeck, lowbed, consolidation, hotshot, logistics, and drayage services, Bandstra keeps the supply chain rolling for Newmont’s Red Chris and Brucejack operations.
Their connection to the region runs deep. Since the early days of both mines, Bandstra has played a pivotal role in transporting goods and delivering tailored supply chain solutions across the rugged northern corridor. The company’s roots with the Tahltan Nation Development Corporation (TNDC) stretch back to a 2015 collaboration agreement, strengthening a partnership that goes well beyond business.
Bandstra has long served Tahltan communities along Highway 37, working closely with TNDC on exploration and construction projects throughout the Golden Triangle. Whenever possible, Bandstra engages Tahltan-owned businesses, provides employment and skills training for Tahltan members, and supports initiatives such as the Tahltan Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO) Program, helping create new pathways for local commercial drivers.
From freight to futures, Bandstra’s story is one of commitment—to community, collaboration, and the North.
